Re-Opening East Greenwich

Recreation Office

Parks & Recreation Summer Program Update


Due to the uncertainty of the phased statewide opening and potential restrictions on activities and facilities, we are postponing the summer program registration until May 26th at 11 am.  

Please check the Town website and the Town’s Facebook page for all updates.  

We will make every effort to offer summer programming this year with priority on our participants’ health and safety.  We appreciate your patience.

Trash pickup

Trash & Recycling Update


  • Curbside collection of bulky items including appliances and mattresses shall resume on May 16th.  Please call ahead to schedule.
  • Curbside collection of yard waste shall resume on May 11th.
  • The transfer station will remain open on Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM for residents dropping off trash and recycling materials only.  No yard waste up to May 2nd.
  • Residents may continue to take yard waste to the Highway Garage located at 3 Bear Swamp Road on Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM through May 2nd.
  • The transfer hours will resume regular hours of operation and schedule on May 9th.

Presidential Preference Primary Election Rescheduled to Tuesday, June 2nd



This election is being promoted as a predominantly mail ballot election.


The Secretary of State has begun mailing out mail ballot applications to every registered voter who has not already applied for one, regardless of party affiliation. If you are interested in voting you are encouraged to request a mail ballot.

Notice is hereby given that only ONE polling location will be used for this election.

  • SWIFT COMMUNITY CENTER
  • 121 PEIRCE STREET

The polling precinct will be open from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM.

This is a one-time consolidation of precincts for this election only.
