The Senior and Human Services bus is accessible to East Greenwich residents ages 55 and over and residents with disabilities.  The bus lift will accommodate persons using wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, braces, etc. or who otherwise have difficulty using steps.

An application is available.

Fee:  Monthly Pass: $10.00 for unlimited use; or $2.00 per trip.

To make a reservation for the senior bus, please call 886-8669, Ext 3.

The following services are offered:

Retail Shopping/Trips

Transportation for retail shopping is available on Wednesdays and Fridays each month.

The bus begins picking up passengers at 8:45 a.m.

Shopping locations vary each week.  Stores include The Christmas Tree Shop, Job Lot, and Walmart.

Transportation is provided to banks and pharmacies in East Greenwich.

Doctors and Dentist Appointments

Tuesday and Wednesday morinings in East Greenwich only.

The bus begins picking up passengers at 8:45 a.m. 

Grocery Shopping

Periodically on Wednesday afternoons to Super Stop & Shop and Dave's Market.  Pickup begins at 1:00 p.m.  Shoppers are allowed approximately one hour and thirty minutes at Super Stop & Shop or one hour and fifteen minutes at Dave's Market and a maximum of six reusable canvas shopping bags.

Every Thursday morning to Super Stop & Shop.  The bus begins picking up passengers at 8:45 a.m.  Shoppers are allowed one hour and fifteen minutes in the market and a maximum of six reusable canvas shopping bags.

All passengers of the Senior bus are required to complete an application form which is kept on file in case of emergency.  Forms can be obtained by contacting Melaine Potrzeba at 886-8669 Ext 3.

Recreation Programs

Set Up Your On-Line Registration Account

In late 2013 the Department began accepting online registrations, so residents can now sign up on-line right from their own computers. In preparation for you to do this you will need to set up an on-line account. All accounts will be set up by the office and once verified will be activated. You are encouraged to do this now; so that once the registration period is open you can sign up right away without having to wait for your account to be activated.

If you already set up your account this fall, then you are all set to go! Forgot your password - simply click on the sign in button and then click "Forgot my Password" and it will be emailed to you. Need to update your information (including pick up and release names and medical information), then stop by the office to fill out a change of information form.
